The Questions - Who's At The Centre Of It All?
Tuesday Oct 01, 2024
Tuesday Oct 01, 2024
Join us at Logan as we continue with our current series, The Questions: The Hard Questions of Faith. This week Pastor Henry reminds us to ground ourselves in Christ every day, not just on Sundays. As we face the challenges and busyness of life, God invites us into a deeper, daily relationship with Him, guiding us through His Word and prayer. When the world offers its distractions, we are called to stand firm in the truth of the gospel, filtering everything through God's Word. God's power, grace, and wisdom are available to us in every situation we face, and as we remain rooted in Him, we will experience the richness of His presence and walk in His purpose for our lives. So stay connected to Him, knowing that with God, nothing is too difficult, and His guidance will help us navigate whatever comes our way.
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. - Collosians 2:8-10 (ESV)

The Questions - Jesus’ Hard Questions
This week Pastor JR encourages us to ask hard questions. Jesus himself asked very hard and pointed questions althroughout His life and ministry on earth. God is not intimidated when we ask questions. As Christians, may we have the desire to know Him more, because if we know Him more, we would love Him more.
Christianity is not a blind faith, but a faith of reason.
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” - Matthew 16:13-15 (ESV)

The Questions - A Ready Defense in the Face of Hecklers
Monday Sep 16, 2024
Monday Sep 16, 2024
This week Pastor Henry reminds us how we are to respond when faced with opposition or criticism of our faith. As Christians we are called to respond not out of fear or anger, but out of courage, grace, and a firm commitment to the truth, the truth that is in God's Word. Standing firm in our faith begins in our hearts.
But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. - 1 Peter 3:15-16 (ESV)

The Questions - The Endgame
Tuesday Sep 10, 2024
Tuesday Sep 10, 2024
This week Pastor Henry helps us to remember God has a unique and divine purpose for your life. Just as He provided for Elijah in unexpected ways, He will provide for you, even in seasons that feel dry or difficult. Trust that His plan is good, and even when the journey feels hard or unclear, He is shaping you according to His perfect design. Use your time, treasure, and talent generously to bless others and walk in the calling He has given you. When you align your steps with His purpose, you will see His blessings overflow in your life and those around you.
Then God said, “Let us make man n our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - Genesis 1:26-27 (ESV)

Jonah: Prophet on the Run
Tuesday Sep 03, 2024
Tuesday Sep 03, 2024
This week Pastor JR lets the story of Jonah remind us of God's boundless grace and relentless pursuit of our hearts. Just as Jonah tried to run from his calling, we too may find ourselves resisting God’s direction. Yet, God’s mercy reaches us even in our lowest moments, guiding us back to where we need to be. Remember that no matter how far we stray, God is always ready to redirect us and use us for His purpose. Embrace His love, trust in His guidance, and let His word shape your actions and thoughts. Be encouraged to seek His will and share His message, knowing that God’s grace is greater than any obstacle you face.
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. - Matthew 12:38-41 (ESV)

The Jonah Effect
Tuesday Aug 27, 2024
Tuesday Aug 27, 2024
This week Pastor Henry helps us to remember that even when we feel like running away from our challenges or God’s calling, He is always present, ready to guide and restore us. The Book of Jonah reminds us that no matter how far we try to run or how deep we try to hide, God’s grace and mercy are never out of reach. Let’s embrace the opportunities to confront our fears, trust in God’s presence, and stay committed to the path He has set before us, knowing that His strength will carry us through every storm we face. Keep your heart open to His leading, and be encouraged that God is always working for your good, even in the toughest times.
Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.” But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord. - Jonah 1:1-3 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Grace Under Pressure
Tuesday Aug 20, 2024
Tuesday Aug 20, 2024
This week Pastor JR helps us to remember that in Christ, we are all one body, uniquely gifted but united in purpose. Just like a body has many parts, each playing a crucial role, so do we as members of the church. Embrace the relationships you have within your community, knowing that despite our differences, it is Christ who binds us together. Let’s take small steps of faith towards unity, celebrating what we share in common—our love for Jesus. As we lift Him up, He will draw others to Himself, making our unity a powerful testimony to the world.
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. - 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Dysfunctional Relationships
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
Tuesday Aug 13, 2024
This week Pastor Henry helps us to remember the power of walking in the Spirit. Just as Joseph navigated challenging family dynamics and Paul reminded us to walk by the Spirit, you too can rise above any difficulties you face. When tensions arise or relationships feel strained, lean on God’s guidance. Know that God is at work in every situation, and as you rely on His strength, you can bring light and healing to those around you.
Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors. But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him. - Genesis 37:3-4 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Love in the Age of A.I.
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
Tuesday Aug 06, 2024
This week Pastor Henry helps us to strive to embody God’s unconditional love, letting it guide our actions and interactions, whether at home, work, or school. Even in an age dominated by technology, we must ensure our use of it is honourable and reflective of our faith. By being set apart, useful, and ready for every good work, we can foster genuine, meaningful connections that honour God and enrich our lives.
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will. - 2 Timothy 2:23-26 (ESV)

Relationship Goals - Into Me See
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
This week Pastor Henry reminds us that love is our guiding principle and our greatest strength. Without love, our actions and achievements lose their true value. Love is patient, kind, and unselfish, bearing all things and enduring through every challenge. Let this agape love, the unconditional and sacrificial love that God has shown us through Jesus, be the foundation of all your relationships. Whether it's family love, deep friendships, romantic bonds, or loving those who are difficult to love, let God's love shine through you. Embrace the call to love one another deeply, as it reflects our true identity as disciples of Jesus.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)
