The King's Wallet - How God Gives

This week Pastor Henry realigns our focus on the principle of biblical generosity and giving. Every good and perfect gift comes from God, who owns everything and provides abundantly. God's grace can empower you to be generous even amidst challenges, knowing that your giving is part of His divine purpose.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (ESV)

The King's Wallet - What God Owns

This week Stephanie explores the parable of the talents from the Book of Matthew. God owns everything - your finances, time, talents, and even relationships. You can be a faithful steward of what God entrusts to you; don't hoard or bury your resources out of fear, but actively use them for God's purposes, invest in eternal things, and generously serve others. It is faithfulness, not the amount you give, that truly matters. What you consider yours is merely on loan, intended for multiplication and to bless others, reflecting Christ's heart.

And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Rhythms of Heaven - The Sounds of Pentecost

This week Pastor Henry helps us to reflect on the coming of the Holy Spirit. We should stay in rhythm with God’s Spirit and walk in obedience to His calling. Embrace the Holy Spirit’s presence in your everyday life and live boldly, knowing that God continues to empower His people with purpose and love.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. - Acts 2:1-4 (ESV)

Rhythms of Heaven - Prayer and Solitude

This week Pastor JR reminds us how Jesus taught His followers to pray, not for show, but in sincerity and trust. Be encouraged to seek God in the quiet place, knowing He sees and rewards what is done in secret. Be sure to create rhythms of prayer, trust, and daily reliance on Him. 

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. - Matthew 6:5-6 (ESV)

Rhythms of Heaven - Worship

Pastor Henry helps us to reflect on what it means to truly be the Church, not just in a building, but in how we live, respond to God, and support each other. Be encouraged to come expectant, no matter what your week has held, and to be open to what God wants to say.  You made it this far, God’s not finished with you yet.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” - John 4:21-24 (ESV)

Firm Foundation - The Mission

Pastor Henry reminds us of Jesus’ great commission from Matthew 28:18-20 and how all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. Through scripture we see how the Holy Spirit leads us to be bold and obedient in sharing the gospel. Be encouraged to step out with faith, to hear the Spirit’s prompting, and to trust that God is already at work in the hearts of those we’re sent to. Know that the Holy Spirit is guiding your steps and preparing the way for divine encounters.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

Firm Foundations - Faith and Hope

Pastor JR explores the question of personal faith, what it means to truly be a Christian, and whether someone can be born into faith or come to it intentionally.  Being a Christian isn't about being born into a tradition, it's about choosing to believe and follow Jesus for yourself. Even when we wrestle with doubts, God is not threatened by our searching.  Can you deepen your relationship with God and make your faith more resilient?

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. - Hebrews 11:1-3 (ESV)

Firm Foundations - Biblical Prosperity

This week Pastor JR focuses on biblical prosperity and generosity. Remember God is the source of all provision, not our own strength or achievements. Remember the Lord in times of blessing and sow generously, trusting God to provide both seed and harvest. Generosity reflects God's character and leads to thanksgiving and praise.

Firm Foundations - Spiritual Family and Church Life

This week, Pastor Henry encourages that God's grace empowers us to live differently. As we walk through life, we are called not just to believe, but to fully engage with His Word, allowing it to transform how we think, speak, and act. No matter what challenges arise, we have the assurance that God’s presence is with us and that His promises remain true. Keep your heart open to His leading, stay connected to His truth, and remember: every step of obedience brings life, strength, and the joy of growing closer to Him.

For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. - Acts 2:39-41 (ESV)

Firm Foundations - Resurrection and Judgement

Pastor JR reminds us to start our week grounded.  Jesus walked the path of suffering and resurrection, and His Word continues to lead us. God’s Word and prayer anchors us in truth and prepares us to understand and follow the path Jesus walked, even through suffering and into resurrection. Remember that Jesus knew the road ahead and His journey through suffering to resurrection was intentional. 

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” - Matthew 16:21-23 (ESV)
