Acts - Every Tribe, Every Table

This week Pastor Henry reminds us that God’s kingdom is far larger than the human categories we often live by. God intentionally interrupts our comfort and routines to reveal His expansive plan. God often revisits what we resist until we respond. On the other side of your obedience lies a breakthrough for someone else, as God reshapes our hearts to see others without partiality and welcomes everyone to His limitless table.
So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. - Acts 10:34-35 (ESV)

Acts - The Audience of One

This week Pastor Henry invites us to reflect on who we are truly living for. We are to live for an audience of one - Jesus - rather than allowing our behaviour to be shaped by the desire to impress the people or crowds watching us. We can rely on God’s grace to position us and His divine power to equip us with the ability to walk through every door He opens. Even in the most ordinary responsibilities, remember that you serve a consistent and whole God who equips you with the strength to reflect Him in every area of your life.
And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people. Then some of those who belonged to the synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and disputed with Stephen. But they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking. - Acts 6:88-10 (ESV)

This week Stephanie focuses on the inner transformation of Saul. Saul was passionately convinced of his own rightness while actively opposing the church, only to be met by Christ in a moment that changed the direction of his life forever. God sees our future rather than our past, and no one is too far gone or too ordinary for His transformative grace. No matter where you are on your journey, God’s mercy is available to interrupt your path and bring about a powerful new identity in Him.
So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized; and taking food, he was strengthened. - Acts 9:17-19 (ESV)

This week Pastor Henry shows us how God uses periods of unseen, faithful service to prepare us for future public impact. We must recognise that God prepares us in private before He sends us into public opportunity - our character and spiritual maturity are shaped long before the moment of our assignment . By remaining intentional in daily disciplines we are formed into trustworthy vessels ready to deliver the "good news about Jesus" whenever and wherever we are called
And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. - Acts 8:34-35 (ESV)

Resurrection Sunday: When It Feels Too Late

Pastor Henry addresses difficult moments in life when it feels beyond repair or when it feels too late. Jesus does not avoid our pain but encounters us directly in the midst of it. Whether you are currently in a season of active faith like Martha or contemplative faith like Mary, Jesus meets you exactly where you are in your "mess". Jesus is the resurrection and the life, He possesses the authority to rewrite the endings of our stories even when a grave situation or a difficult decision seems final.
So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” - John 11:20-22 (ESV)

Pastor Henry explores the significance of the cross, outlining Jesus’ true mission to fulfil God's intentional plan of love. We must remember that Jesus’ sacrifice was not a reaction to sin but a deliberate act that tore the temple curtain, removing the barrier between humanity and God’s holy presence forever. Because Jesus declared "it is finished" on the cross, we can move forward with the confidence that our debt is paid and we are worthy of his love, stepping into a life of alignment with the Father that requires no further striving for acceptance .
“I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.” - John 16:25-28 (ESV)

This week Pastor Henry reminds us that in order to fulfill God's mission in our lives, we must allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. Our mission is not something we put on but a part of who we are. We are reminded that our lives serve as the loudest sermons we will ever preach, calling us to move beyond words and into a faith that is actively lived. So lean into the leading of the Holy Spirit, and choose to live out the mission that Christ has for you.
And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. - 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (ESV)

Acts - Born to Pray

This week, Pastor Henry reminds us that prayer should be our foundational lifeline. Looking at the early church, we see that prayer should be our first response to pressure, not our last resort. When challenges overwhelm us, it’s easy to lose sight of God’s presence, but we must remember: if God was sovereign over the Cross, He is surely sovereign over our suffering. It’s time to shift from praying out of panic to praying with purpose
And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit,
“‘Why did the Gentiles rage,
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers were gathered together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed’

Acts - When Power Meets The Gospel

This week Stephanie Tofae illustrates the difference between seeking God’s power for personal leverage and experiencing the true, heart-transforming power of the gospel. Consider whether you desire God Himself or merely what He can do for you. The Gospel demands that Jesus become everything in our lives, moving us from using power to serve ourselves to using our lives to serve God. We can examine our own heart and embrace a relationship with Christ that prioritises His presence over His provisions, trusting that His transformative grace is a free gift that cannot be bought or controlled.
But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great. They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.” And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic. But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed. - Acts 8:9-13 (ESV)

Acts - Authenticity That Fuels Mission

This week Pastor Henry reflects on how authentic faith is the necessary fuel for mission. We are to look beneath the surface of their spiritual lives. What happens on the inside ultimately determines what stands on the outside. God is not interested in religious performance or artificial spirituality but deeply desires sincerity and truth in our inner lives. Authentic faith is a transformative journey that flows from a heart captured by Jesus, naturally leading to a life of unity, radical generosity, and honest living before God.
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? - Acts 5:1-3 (ESV)
